Training Needs Analysis
Optimize your training budget
One of the areas where a managed learning environment can have most impact on the efficiency with which learning and development activities are delivered is that of training needs analysis.
Our solutions work at both the individual and enterprise level and provide distinct benefits to each.
For individuals, the analysis of needs can be made against a target profile. This may itself be based upon any driver of learning and development need; typical example include:
• A pre-course assessment for an individual course or programme of courses
• A role profile for the learner’s current or aspirational role
• Knowledge/skills/competency profiles or frameworks
• Team/department/group directives for instance MS Office migrations
Individual training needs analyses are normally delivered as an online assessment using our TNA module., with results either being reported directly, or in the form of a personalised development plan.
The benefit of this approach is that learners have a clear understanding at the outset, of the areas of learning and development they need to prioritise, and therefore optimise the time they have available to best effect.
At the enterprise level, training needs analysis can yield invaluable information about the skills and knowledge gaps that may exist within an organisation. We have a variety of methods that we use for delivering this including:
• Online assessment (in the same way as the individual analysis)
• Design workshops
• Analysis of helpdesk enquiries
This enables the organisation to establish a clear idea of the learning development needs of the business from a statistical perspective, and highlight any critical areas of concern. Where suitable learning and development interventions are already in place, the analysis can drive the deployment of these to meet demand. Where there are no suitable interventions in place, then the analysis can identify the optimum composition of topics within any course, to ensure that the offering is optimised to the needs of the audience.
