Hampshire Police develop e-learning programme

E-LEARNING – Hampshire Constabulary has developed an e-learning programme, using Knowledge Solutions tools.

The force employs around 5,000 staff within 12 main divisions, all of whom need to be able to use an IT application called CARM (computer-aided resource management).

Some staff were finding CARM complex to use and the Force recognised a need for e-learning, both in initial training and on-going support. This had to be accessible from stations throughout Hampshire and the Isle of Wight and be suitable for officers and civilian staff who could be called away from their desks at any time.

Knowledge Solutions was chosen to provide the training. The e-learning department at Hampshire Constabulary then completed a three-day training course to enable them to use the whole KS product suite.

With on-going input from KS, the e-learning department was able to create all of the training content internally.

Hampshire Constabulary's e-learning is delivered over the intranet, with minimal net-working costs and complete flexibility for the user. If an officer is called away to an emergency, the training is simply resumed on their return.
